Switzerland features many lovely landscapes – among the most beautiful is “La Gruyère” – the Gruyère country. An unspoiled, healthy region with people still following their old traditions. Fortunately so, because making Gruyère cheese is one of the oldest traditions. Originally, this cheese was only made in and around the town of Gruyères. Yet even today it is still made in village cheese dairies – using knowledge which has been handed down through the generations, combined with the thorough training that today’s cheese-maker has to undergo.
